Is the Brucemo site still relevant?

Hi all. I've seen the link to Bruce Moreland's great site posted here and there on these boards...

It's a cool site, full of lots of useful info and great pics. I was looking over his section on "How to Grade a Vintage Card."

The bottom of the page says it was last updated at the end of 2002. All of the PSA graded cards he uses as examples on his site are "zero-certs" (and older flips), which some on this board consider to be over-graded cards from an earlier era, which essentially means that PSA tightened their standards at some point after the original "zero-certs" were graded.

From your own experience, do you think this analysis of PSA's grading standards is still relevant?

its still pretty good ...i mean ...cards should be graded consistenly ...

absolutely - nothing has changed - and there are still some tests that Bruce performed that you might not want to try at home....

I wish he was still around- he added a lot of content to this board.
I think the site is still very relevant- I've got lots of evidence that 0 certs were graded tougher than in the last 3-4 years, and certainly don't believe that standards have gotten stricter. I think you're just seeing anecdotal evidence of some cards being overgraded- often those are the ones that are most likely sold more often.
Buy the card, not the grade.
