Reds sign Ryan Franklin - next Tom Hume and Rob Dibble

Franklin

Seriously, how many more pitchers is this new GM going to add to the bullpen?

After that trade with Washington (traded away Lopez and Kearns), I heard a rumor that the GM was going to make the following deal: Adam Dunn and Ken Griffey Jr. to the Phillies for Arthur Rhodes, Rick White, and a relief pitcher to be named later ... Because you can never have enough relief pitching image

  • Actually, the 2006 team may be the first team to forego having a starting rotation and just go entirely with a bullpen.

If the Reds are sending Griffey out, send him to the Twins. We've already sent you future all-stars in Castro and Lohse, please send Griff ASAP.

Fausto Carmona is available. Don't laugh about having a complete pitching staff of relievers.....just might work if they all go three innings apiece.....
  • This is insanity. How many relief pitchers does one club need?

    Schoenweiss dealt to Reds

They must be doing something right.

2.5 behind the cardinals for the divion, and leading the wild card race.

True. I'm just waiting for the day that they forego their starting rotation for a series of relievers. They have enough arms. image

    haha

Guys pitching 1-2 innings each...at least they wouldn't have to worry about fatigue.

I heard they were scouting Fred Norman.

Harang has been the only consistent starter they've had since the break, and even he can have an implosion here and there. Add in Milton who has always been 'homer off me happy', and Arroyo who the NL figured out and they need all the help they can get. Throwing 4-5 relievers out there a night might just do the trick.
Next MONTH? So he's saying that if he wins, the best-case scenario is that he'll be paying for it two weeks after the auction ends?

Forget blocking him; find out where he lives and go punch him in the nuts. --WalterSobchak 9/12/12
