Is this Joe D. an autopen?

I was just goofing around on eBay and came across this:

A slabbed, authentic Joe DiMaggio signature on an index card.

It's a pretty cool piece but looks too consistent throughout the signature to be the real deal and it seems to me as if an autopen was used. I'd like to get better at detecting these sorts of things so I can feel a little more comfortable buying outside of a PSA slab, as in, if a signature can look that processed and immaculate coming from a human hand, how can I tell the difference between that and something a machine made?

Anyone want to weigh in/help me along in my learning?

  • To tell the difference, use a printers loupe. Can be had for 10-15 bucks and the one I have(okay I have a few) also can give you the centering for cards(other printed objects) as well.
