This French coin is confusing me

I don't see any Rooster marks in Krause. Perhaps I'm not looking in the correct spot? Or maybe it isn't a rooster. Also, is something funky going on with the 8? or is this normal.

It's also possible that this is an overdate.

Further research shows the two A's are normally well separated for the AA mintmark.
My 19th century krause lists the rooster privy from the Paris mint, L'AN 6 thru 1821. Strange that its not shown in the 18th century edition.
How about a pic of the Obverse? I know when i was looking for info on the 8 sided medal, I ran across some pattern coin's by Lorthior that were never adopted for circulation. If that is what you have, might be worth quite a bit. I'll see if i can find the site again. I found it by typing , Pierre-Joseph Lorthior, it was a French website, I had to hit the translate, but it had really good info, and price's were high.......

Thanks MrEureka, I beginning to think this may be the 8/5 and A/B coin. Is this scarcer than a normal coin?

Thank you for thinking that there's better than a snowball's chance in hell that I would know, but I don't. Sorry.
