Let's see - Noticed in the Charlton Standard Catalogue of Canadian Coins that the US Mint (Philly) helped to mint Canada's 1968 Dimes. This created two different reeded edges - the US flat bottom and the Canadian v-shaped bottoms. Never really stopped to consider the differences in that side of the coin - always focused on the obv/rev.
How about a nice history lesson on the different types of grooves/reeding used on US coins?
Have not seen much regarding shallow vs deep relief (artistic depth) on U.S. coinage, both modern and older issues. Lots of discussion regarding the artwork (or the lack thereof) on particular coins, but not much about how relief ties into the quality of each manufactured design.
Topic examples would include the butchery of modern U.S. coinage which began in ernest in the 1990s, but would also include historical coins such as the Peace dollar or the Liberty nickel series both of which also suffered from shallow relief.
One can only imagine what a Liberty nickel with the Buffalo nickels relief might have looked like! I believe it would have been one of the nicest designs ever!

Like these ? I think they have been mentioned a couple of times. Most I understand are reproductions.

We've been there and done that. In a nutshell they're all fantasies and fakes though there is other ephemera.

I don't recall ever seeing a thread on New England coinage, the 1849 gold rush, or the coinage of Hawaii.
