U.S. Dimes Complete Set (1796-present) Thread

Sorry...didn't realize I had it set so no one could see my set. Like I'm in competition for finest knowns...lol

This is a set I hope to be focusing more and more on all the time. It might just make me start submitting coins for grading too image

I'm at 25% complete on this set!

I may be 50% in another 30 years or so! image

Yes...this is a set I could see myself selling off other sets I have for.

I better hide them now so I don't have any evil thoughts.....Selling any of my coins...image

If all my dimes were slabbed (of which none are) it would look something like this-

    186/634-comprised of 2 Draped Bust, 7 Capped Bust, 20 Seated's, 66 Barber's, 77 Mercury's, and 14 Roosevelt's. 29.34% complete.
    GPA: between 12-20.

Being as I'm only 17 I think I've got a long time left to complete this set. We'll see how much I can get (unslabbed).

My focus now is only somewhat on Dimes, the Draped Bust type.

Nice series to focus on. I wish I had started from The Beginning when I started collecting dimesimage

Just remember....a scratched, cleaned, bent, Junk dime will be a scratched, cleaned, bent, Junk dime in 20 years too.

When I was 17, I settled for a few coins. Pretty much goes for anything. Junk will always be junk, but with gradeflation, a nice coin can be a better coin image

Hey, I'm leading the pack! image

Only cuz I got so many Moderns......maybe I'll open the purse strings to send in some of my Barbers & Mercs from my Dansco's for grading. $$$$

Your Mercs look better than mine, but we're about even on the barbers, I think image

With the way I hear PCGS is grading now-a-days, ya just never know......

Ya think anyone will get past 80% for the set?

Probably not me. I'm too picky to buy seated dimes online. Well, I do, but it's like a small lottery for me image

    152 X $18 (economy) = $2736!

Everytime I win a TT lot, I just add the coin the next day from the scan. I paid for it so why not! image

This was a "lot" lot. All the coins were not pictured.

Trusting to PCGS on this one........image

Added some scrummy teletrade pics to my set.

Someday, when I have 8 hours or so, I'll figure out how to get a counter on there too. image

Or will the new registry have counters in place for us already? (hope, hope) image
  • Dan50Dan50 Posts: 1,816 ✭✭✭
Drizzt The process is easier than it reads. After you register and pick the counter you want to use, if memory serves me right, you copy the code it gives you and paste it into your set description box.
