    Isn't the small date level across the top and the Large date the one uneven?

    This is a very difficult variety to spot by looking at the height of the numerals. It's
    far easier to look at the lower loop of the "9". On the large date it points down to-
    ward the mint mark and on the small date it's nearly horizontal. This works without
    fail on the mint state coins but you'll need to have both to compare on the proofs.
