Just an interesting point for those who have an interest in comparing TPGs attention to world coins.

I sent 17 World Economy submissions and 6 U.S. Earlybird submissions to NGC in the same package.

The World coins are done and finalized. The U.S. are still waiting.

I guess NGC does like world coins.

Josh,
I know there is always a lot of discussions about grading quality and consistency between NGC/PCGS ... Were you satisfied with the grading quality?

We sent all 17 coins in to get an UNC grade. Of the 17, 14 went UNC, 2 AU58 and one BB "Stained". I'll have to look at the one BB when it comes back. Overall, it looks like NGC and we were in agreement.

As far as 63, vs 64 vs 65, etc. I don't believe in the micrograding of UNC world coins. I just see them as Almost UNC, UNC and Nice UNC. So I can't comment on that portion.

I sent seven coins by World Economy and five Standard ($30 each vs $16.50 for economy) in the same package. The economy submission was shipped already and the standard one is still in QC.

Now I'm wondering why anyone would bother using the more expensive tier.

I had a similar experience, except that my standard and economy submissions finished simultaneously.

NGC is trying with World Coins. PCGS needs to step up their efforts in this area.

FTR, I agree with assigning numerical unc grades to World coins

What the heck is 'stained'? This to me is a bogus reason for BBing a coin.
