  • Why so you can do it??

It is common knowledge that Paypal favors the buyer in any dispute. They can claim the item was not as described send you back a rock with DC keeping the item and as long as the DC shows the item is delivered they will give them their money back.

If a buyer files a claim to their credit card company Paypal will roll over for the CC company. I have heard of this happening as long as six months after the end of the item was sold.

If you send an item to a confirmed address with DC and the mailman does not scan the item as DELIVERED(and it does happen) and the buyer claims they never got it Paypal will give the buyer their money back.

    Well my case is simple:

Scamming seller has an account with Paypal, he sells hundred of items he does not have accepting Paypal only.

He then takes the money and buys items with the stolen money on another Ebay account linked to the same Paypal account.

Paypal catches up with him closes his account, then returns all the money to the scammed buyers by taking the money from the sellers he bought from. Leaving those sellers witout the items or the money.

When said sellers complain to Paypal, Paypal basically tells them it was not their problem and that the sellers should have checked out their buyer closer before selling to him.

  • Wiz-

Just because I think it is alright to charge whatever you want for shipping/time spent mailing items (as long as it is clearly stated)

doesn't mean that I'm a thief or a criminal or dishonest or immoral.

EBAY/PAYPAL (as you correctly pointed out) F*&$ people out of money ALL DAY LONG and get away with it.

And why do they get away with it, because unless you want to post your stuff to sell on one of these boards, or go to one of the big houses

YOU NEED TO BE ON EBAY IF YOU WANT THE EXPOSURE.

They just don't care about the customer

So hey, If you wanna be a boy scout and make sure that ebay gets every cent they (think) they have coming to them then go ahead and keep doing what you are doing.

And I will keep on charging what i believe is fair for MY TIME spent at the post office.

In the end though I really don't think you believe that ebay is a "Good" entity. nmn

  • I agree with you Ebay is a necessary evil, but part of that problem is sellers who either sell fake items or try to cheat their customer by charging high shipping. Some of that blame goes to the buyers as well who need to read the listings. The only way Ebay will get cleaned up is for them to start enforcing their own rules.

I personally would be all for a set limit on the amount of S/H that can be charged on sportscards and there are some rumblings this may be coming. They have already said anything more than 4.00 to ship a DVD is considered excessive to them.

Naxcom and Cardshark both have set S/H and both would be considered successful when compared to most other sites.
