Well, I saw it and thought it was a neat looking coin.....but was it worth the money?
This was the auction pic.(just a obv,no reverse pic).........I'm not a clashed die collector or am I into Indian cents, but I thought it was neat
looking and something to have in the collection.........
So, let me have it.....waste of money or not.......

What? Sam Houston is some good stuff
Carry on.........................
Tomb I think it's the real deal...look at the pics in this post and they match up........Clashed die post....
Also, is this a "fancy 5"? I'm on a dial up right now and it makes searching the internet sloooooww.....
If it is, is there a premium for the coin because of it?
Thanks again,
Tom

Demand is quietly growing.
2. I consider clashed dies to be a negative that deducts from the value of a coin.
My opinion: NOT a good purchase.
Just who is telling you that clashed die coins are worth a premium? Is that person paying a premium for such coins when they are offered for sale to him?

Although I don't collect IHC's, isn't clash of this magnitude unusual?

Mark, how can you tell from those pictures it is not original color?

Jay, if the color portrayed in the imge is anywhere near accurate, the coin has been cleaned and/or re-colored. It is the wrong shade for an original bronze cent.
Here's the posted coin:

Thanks. Would you ever expect to see BS IHC's a dark brown like that?
I bet a lot of folks here do this on occasion.
Sometimes you run into something really cool and just have to have it.
I'm saying this because we are talking about a $75 coin.
On $1000 coins I control myself a bit more.
When the day comes to sell a person may take a hit
but having it in your collection is worth something.
Just the way I see it. Am I a dealers dream customer?
