NCS candidate?

Got this one in the mail today. I knew it would be hazy, but it was significantly below Krause.

It's an (old?) NGC holder with a lime-green label, PF62. There's definite cameo contrast on the obverse, and hints of it on the reverse.

I'm thinking this may be a perfect coin to send into NCS to see what they can do.

Thoughts?

  • I'm always interested in what NCS can do as I have a coin I would like to send (1927 GB proof crown) but never got around to.

What does that hand signal symbolize though?

Looks like a coin that needs NCS care!

While I believe they could help with the more unsightly oxidation below the hand, I think the grade had more to do with the numerous contact areas on the devices - as though the coin had been in a bag with its other fellow struck coins for some years. Don't know that you could expect a big number increase, and good the Brits don't get hold of it for one of their non=numeric grades...

The hand is a symbol for the vow on the Weimar constitution, the coin was strucked to commemorate the 10th anniversary. image

I would not be so quick to dip or conserve this. I doubt it will improve the grade or the overall appearance. My concern is that if you dip it, any hairlines will be very pronounced

My thoughts exactly, I doubt that it will as there def. are contact/hairline marks on this coin.
