If it were a PCGS MS70 it would be worth 10k or more I would think.

  • A lot of money for a 1 ounce piece of Silver bullion. I would rather have a Bust coin or a seated Liberty for the money.

If the coin were in an NGC or PCGS holder it would be bringing a lot more than that. Not sure of the years, but some have brought north of $10K.

  • I think that is a better date. I could be wrong but I think that is why the price is so "high."

Again, the market sets the price so it must be "right." But good luck selling it in the future.

The kids today like having the number 70 on the slab.

They just need to be more discriminating on whose slab it is I guess.

So if mdwood is right then I should be jumping all over this one? Its NGC MS70 (plus looks much nicer than the other one)...imageNGC MS70

NGC 70's are not much better than ICG 70's

PCGS 70's are where the big money holders are at.

It's a supply and demand equation. Both ICG and NGC have many times the number 70's that PCGS has, so they sell for less being more common.

That still doesn't make the bidders smart
10K can buy a lot of coins

I said PCGS slabbed. The pops are very low for PCGS MS70 Silver Eagles for all the years. PCGS has only slabbed 12 MS70 Silver Eagles for all years combined. I don't know what the NGC pops are but they are probably much higher.
