  • Thanks for posting. I had never seen one before. I am not sure why it is called "Bugs Bunny" though.

I have been a collector for over mumbly-five years. I learn something new every day.
  • Here are some better images. The reason it is called a "bugs bunny" is because the dies clashed (came together with NO planchet between them) and the two highest parts of the die came together and transfered the little eagles wing right on Bens lip.

I have NO idea how many made it but they are not really known to many collectors. I hope the number is few because I have a line on about 10 of them that I plan on picking up this fall image
  • Nice find.

I have 4 55's and just can't seem to come across any 54's.

Extremely cool, Jason! If you'd want to part with one, let me know.

You can't see it well in Jason's images but there's a die chip at Franklin's mouth making him look like he has a buck tooth, like Bugs Bunny.
  • ,,So what is this coin worth ?

I don't know. All I know is that I paid $30 for it. I think it's worth more then that.

I heard (I don't know because I wasn't alive in 55) that they were actually dubbed the "dracula" but it wasn't "PC" at the time and it turned folks off.
    I have a line on 3 anacs certified 1951's .........

And now that you've gone public about it I'm sure you won't be the only one.
