Finally got my grades posted today. Many disappointments but a few nice pleasant surprises.
(1) I have no idea where the "evidence of trimming" on all but the Mays came from. The '68 Blanda was once graded a PSA 8 and now came back "trimmed", go figure- I extracted it a few years ago when I wanted it mounted in a different style on my cabinet. The '68 Willie Mays, however, was once gaded by PRO. This was the third of three PRO graded cards I sent in, all coming back evidence of trimming. I bought this several years ago not knowing the crap about PRO graded cards- lesson learned and will now only buy PSA, SGC, GAI or BVG graded cards. However, a couple of my CSA 8 graded cards have come back PSA 9. The '71 Willie Brown came back "evidence of trimming" the first time I submitted it and now came back "recolored?"
(2) Disappointed about the Raiders that came back 8s. They all looked like 9s to me. Have no idea who would "trim" an '81 Rod Martin card. Very, very happy the Stork came back a 10, though.
(3) The '73 #68 Checklist 1-132 was actually a New Orleans Saints Team card. Have no idea how they got those two confused. Grades popped within the hour, so hopefully my call into them caught them before they shipped the cards back to me so they can correct that mistake.
(4) Disappointed about the '73 hockey. I was hoping no 7s and at least a few 9s, though not too surprised some came back 7s. My first test submission of this lot of cards I bought came back mostly 8s with a couple 9s, hoping the same thing here.
(5) Pleased about '74 Kelloggs and will be submitting the rest of my set. I was hoping Campy would have come back a 10- favorite player of all-time.
(6) Pleasantly surprised about most of the '60s baseball, a couple disappointments. I thought the '65 McCovey had a shot at a 9. Will have to look closer to see what I missed on that one. I thought the '68 Ryan was coming back a 3 or 4, came back a 5. I got this directly from Topps in 2001 when I submitted a redemption card from their 2001 Topps Archives series for an original card of a random player. They sent me a Ryan rookie. Though it was far from mint, I thought it was pretty cool they would send me an original Ryan rookie. I had to submit it to see what it would grade.

Not bad at all for that recent lot. I'm sure you would have loved for the 1973 TOPPS 431 MIKE GARRETT to had come back a PSA 9 as that is one tough card.
