This is more of a World Currency Question...

But I'll try it here. I've got these 4 notes, 3 of which I know zero about. I'm looking for possible values, or any other information you may have. Value mostly.

The last one is a World War II Phillipine Occupation note, JNDA Catalog No. 13-82, valued at ¥100 "Ordinary", ¥200 "Pretty", and ¥300 "Uncirculated" in the 2006 edition.

    The first Showa 17 (1942) series of notes included 1, 5, 10 and 50 centavo, and 1, 5 and 10 peso, denominations.

Later different 1, 5, and 10 peso notes, along with 100, 500 and 1000 peso bills were issued. All are pretty common in Japan, with none being valued at more than ¥1,000 (~$8.75).

The first one is a 1 yuan Republic of China note, dated Republic year 25 (1936), which would predate the move of the Chiang Kai Shek government to Formosa (as Taiwan was known in those days).

The 1940 10 Deutschmark is, of course, from Hitler's Third Reich, and as stated on its face the 1938 Portuguese note is 20 escudos.

Except for the Japanese note, I have no hint as to value. image

Some good finds! even in that condition!

The Portuguese note looks to be P-143, valued at $35 in Good. With the tears that large it may hover around $10, though. (I'm not familiar with Portuguese, that's just a general adjustment.)

The German one is actually 1948, P-5a. In VG it's woth $8 -- yours looks a little less than that, but on ebay may well fetch that much or more.

The Chinese note is likely P-212, but I'd have to see the reverse to know for sure, the signature varieties barely affect value. Either way, it's likely worth a buck or two on ebay (less in a store).

All these valuations are based on the 2000 edition of Pick. For confirmation on those catalog numbers you might try here, or a bookstore or library.
