Yes he was, but you have to remember the new Batman movies have nothing to do with the previous 4, George Clooney killed that franchise. They decided to reset the whole franchise. Remember Jack was the Joker in Batman and he killed Batman's parents. They have already changed that line, by having his parents killed by a common criminal.

I don't think George Clooney killed the last Batman series solely. The story was just too campy--I am sure few would disagree with that. I heard Batman Begins was done much better and was a much better more believeable story.

While I like Schwarzenegger, Silverstone and Thurman (my favorites for big screen), I just did not have to see them do Batman. Having a star studded line up in a superhero movie is asking for trouble. I rather have seen a bunch of unknowns for all the roles. Batman wears a mask, so it was not too bad when Clooney, Keaton and Kilmer played the role of Batman, but I really want to see unknowns for those roles because it makes it more believeable.
