Yep. Stupid move on Dallas's part since well...no matter how "out of shape" LA was, he's still one of the strongest knee benders in the trenches. Smart move by San Fran to pick him up.

Still a beast of an inline blocker, but no longer an athletic guard that can pull and turn the corner on sweeps.
That brings back a memory of the Monday night football game where he ran down the defender from behind. He was one heck of an athlete. Truly one of the best if not the best ever at guard. I think he and Will Shields are definite first ballot Hall of Famers if there ever were two.

Thanks for the thread. Yes, the Monday Night play (which, of course, I have on tape) back about '96 or so is incredible. He ran the guy down from behind after the interception and the MNF announcers were going crazy. In reference to playing college football at division 2 (no scholership) Sonoma State they said "like a fine Sonoma wine...." In reference to his gracefulness they said "Like a ballerina... like Nadia Komanich...." Good stuff.
I am really not sure if he was released but I suppose so. Strange as I thought he still had a solid year. I am most conflicted now as I am NOT a 49er fan. Not sure what I am going to do. I guess I will root for Larry to do his job but the team to lose!?
