Card shops near Nashville?

I am going to be visiting my sister-in-law (not my choice....my wife is making me do it) in a couple of weeks. She lives in Thompsons Station, TN, a small place just south of Nashville. It is between Nashville and Columbia actually.

Does anybody know if there are any cards shops worth visting in the area? I will have some time to kill, so I don't mind driving a ways.

Also, I see that there is a regular mall show in nearby Murfreesboro (it looks to be about 25 miles from where I wiil be). It is always advertised in the Beckett show listings....is it worth a visit?

Thanks in advance to anybody who takes the time to respond.

  • The next show in Murfreesboro is this coming Saturday. Its actually at the Ramada Inn on Church street just off of I-24 exit 81. The next show is the 19th I beleive. Usually 30 or 40 tables with the usual selections. One dealer comes from Louisville with nothing but wax and a couple of guys selling vintage. Also one guy who has a lot of autographed cards. The rest are selling newer stuff. Show starts at 9:00 and ends around 3:00. Worth checking out if your in the area. Kurt

  • Mr300bowl,

I live in Franklin and every year or so I get the itch and drive over to Murfreesboro. I mean no disrespect for the dealers and customers of this show, but I never seem to find anything to buy. My area of interest is pre 1990s football. The cards I do find are for the most part never better than EX and are overpriced. This probably describes most local shows across the country though... Am I just unlucky when I do attend or would you say it's always like that? I usually purchase a box of some new wax from the KY guy that is old friend and drive home muttering to myself about eBay killing the local show / store.
