Got Grades Today (Error Coins)

RampageRampage Posts: 9,496 ✭✭✭✭✭
A couple that are pretty damn neat. Will post images when I get them back. Here are the grades and designations though.

1) 1966 Kennedy Half AU55 Struck on Defective Planchet. (This is the most dramatic defective planchet I've ever seen.)

2) 1946 Jefferson XF40 Split Pln Obv After Stk.

3) ND Jefferson XF40 Split Pln Rev After Stk.

4) 1989-P Jefferson MS63 Struck Thru Obverse. (Kind of dramatic, struck thru more than just grease.)

5) ND Roosevelt AU58 Struck on Elliptical Clipped Planchet.

6) 2001-P Lincoln MS65RD Close Overlap DBL Strk.

7) 2000-P Lincoln MS63RD Dbl Stk & 30% Indent Obv.

Excellent work, did PCGS do anything on the holders for the two halves of the split after strike nickel to indicate they were once the same coin?

Incomplete planchets wanted, especially Lincoln Cents & type coins.

Sean, I was not able to tell from the cert verification. I should have them back in a few days, so I will find out then.

Sounds like some cool coins. Please post some pictures.
  • I have an error economy submission in and was wondering the turnaround time on these.

PCGS got my order May 27, 2006, and logged it in their system the same day. PCGS mailed them back July 31, 2006, and they arrived here today, but I was not here to get them. Tomorrow morning, I go to the USPS and pick them up. I will image a couple of the cool ones and post them in this thread. The 1966 Kennedy is so too cool.
  • Look forward to seeing the pics. I have 26 1938-S red mint state wheat cents with repunched mint marks.
(RPM #'s 1,2 and 3) . They went in 6/7 so I should find out next week.
