Does it matter if you file for your Ebay FVF credit before or after doing the Paypal refund?
Also, is there any problem deducting shipping cost duing the Paypal refund process?

You can file it before issuing the refund, but the FVF credit won't be granted if the buyer decides to be a butt about it.

    Doable.

  • Filing for PayPal refund and Non-Paying Bidder's Claim are separate issues. I usually file the PayPal refund first and refund only the auction price, not shipping and handling. Then you file the Non-Paying Bidder Claim noting that item was returned by Buyer.

Thanks. Well, I filed the Ebay NPB first. I have to put money back in my bank account so Paypal can grab it and that may take a day or two for the electronic transfer. That account is Paypal-only and gets zeroed out as soon as money hits it.
  • I return my fair share, and the seller determines when/how to process the refund. Buying "sight unseen" occasionally results in a return, which is not a free ride as you usually end up eating round trip postage/insurance.

Usually you know if it's a "keeper" when you first lay eyes on it. That's why it's better to buy at a shop or show IMO.
