I had a couple of PM's asking about the timeframe and whether I was satisified.

It took almost 6 weeks from leaving my home to returning. I guess this means they were in TX for four weeks or so. The order was submitted for 15 day service. There was a letter of apology regarding the delay and a mention of the recently improved newer holder. Also received a couple of freebies. Yes. I'm satisfied.

Four coins had problems and came back in the smaller holders. Out of the 26 newer style holders, I noticed only one had rough edges and a small area that looked like melted plastic. There has been some talk about having them look like they were tampered with. I guess this is what folks are referring to. It's a small area on one slab and the other holders look fine.

Grading... I'm not the best grader. They seem okay. There is one discovery coin that graded VG8 and is in a newer holder. It looks cleaned to me. I also had some duplicates of one variety. Okay, it was quintuplicates.... I had five 1884-O O/O VAM-10's. I sent an identical coin to PCGS. It received the same grade... MS63.

I noticed the return address label on the box still has the Ohio address. image

    Norm,

You have too many coins...I'll need to speak to Mrs. NESVT about that!! image

OBTW too bad the 1888-O hot lips is graded VF20. To quote the July 19, VAM-E Newsletter : "Ash is also looking for the 1888-O VAM 4 "Hot Lips" in PCGS grades
VF35, F15, and PO1. He is willing to trade the next grade up for any of these, even swap. Contact Ash at ash@ashmore.com"

He'll also sell the farm to get a higher grade 1903 micro S. image

If I only had a dollar for every VAM I have...err...nevermind...I do!! image

    Norm,
That's quite the VAM motherload. The sweetest VAMs are cherrypicks. Congrats!
