PCI UNDERgrading? Impossible! Another half cent purchase...

This one intrigued me. PCI usually has a reputation for overgrading, but unless there are hidden problems I can't see in the pictures, I think I agree with the seller and that PCI undergraded this one. There looks like there might be a little bit of verdegris in the devices of the reverse, but in my opinion the detail is AU all day long. It wasn't exactly a steal, since I paid full grey sheet AU money for it ($100), but it looks to be a very nice example.
Again, there's a return privilege, so I'm not worried.

Yes. They were very conservative back then. The gold border holders came after a change in ownership and are essentially a different company.
