1889-O doubled O- what Vam#?????

While browsing with a fellow boardie today- we viewed what I hope will be a few additions of Vams to my growing list that needs to be submitted, shortly.

I can't provide a pic of this one yet- but the question is out there to all Vammers

1889-O doubled O- is this a Vam?
It is not a micro O, but the doubling is definite heading Northerly.

any help?

Could be strike doubling. Could be a clash. (CAM-20A would be an interesting possibility to say the least.) A new variety is always a possibility. But so is toning, optical/scanning effects, foreign matter, ... seen 'em all. Did you buy the coin?

I've owned it fer awhile now- it is housed in a pCGS 63 holder.

i think I'll send it to leroy, maybe he has something he can advise me as to attribution or not.

It's a nice coin for grade, quite nice.
