Pete Rose fans...

I have a friend at work that is a little envious of some of my collection. He's an older fella that has acquired a few neat items himself - but has never really been a collector. He brought in the following 2 items to show me. He says that he was living in Indiana and a neighbor talked him into buying these back in the 80's. I though they were pretty cool - and he'd like to know an approximate value. Any thoughts?
(They are both the size of a regular newspaper and signed.)

I dont know how much, But I like em a lot. They would go well with my 1990 World Series "sweep" Cincinnatti Enquirer.

Are they actual newspapers or repoductions? Is there one page or the whole paper ?

I really don't know. They came in the frames, so I think they are reproductions. They are both limited editions - the one on the right says "1/2000" on the back. I don't believe it is #1 of 2000, just one of them. My friend has kept them wrapped up and stored in a closet for all these years - what a waste...

Those Rose items are very nice.

I don't know exactly how much they are worth - ballpark? Somewhere between 40-100$ each?

Ya know - it depends how much a Rose collector wants them.

If they were authenticated - value may go up a bit too.

Sigs looks good to me - no expert.

Great pieces but Rose's auto is well traveled through the hobby and 4192 stuff has had its collectible time come and go. When and if he ever makes the hall, his stuff will appreciate but it will never achieve the value that it would have had if not for the gambling issues.
  • Southern-It will eventually reach quite a high value imo, but not in most collectors lifetime, me maybe b/c I'm a youngin.
