I've been outbid regularly on most of the Japanese coins I bid on lately.

2004 was the first year. Before that I was collection (gasp) US coins.
<< <i>I wonder how high the Hello Kitties will end up in the year's top ten. The Utrecht piece is gorgeous. >>
My favorite Kitty is the one where she's flying by the Eiffel Tower in the style of Mary Poppins. I'll bet that one makes it to the final ten.
I like her so much I now own a Hello Kitty waffle maker.
Nice example of a common coin:
Gemmy Austrian copper:
Working on set of these, this one was gmarguli's undergrade:
A nice gem thaler:
Tougher mint minor from our own 3mark:
Random eBay buy, I'll try it for a 65 one of these days:
Another gmarguli coin:
One form Dimitri:
One I sold on eBay and later bought back from my buyer:
Gmarguli sure seems to be my Japan connection, nice color:
Better date:
Well, its in a 65 holder:
Key date:
I'll try this one again, nice and glossy:
I;ve had a lot of trouble finding nice Austrian 20ks:
<< <i>hey, that waffle maker was part of your surprise bday present from your loving wife! i never get any credit1 >>
She also thinks these photos are much cuter than those above:

If I owned one, I would never let anyone know this
Give him a couple of slabs to play with, let's see what happens...
And a great baby! Who looks like a bonafide toddler now! What a cutie .
Thanks for the Japanese shots too. Oh, and when I was in Japan, there was pretty much a Hello Kitty version of everything, including a Hello Kitty limited edition car. I can't remember what model it was though.
