star wars cards fifth series need help with value

hi i always loved star wars and want to try to complete a psa set of cards. i recently won 5 unopened wax packs of 5th series for $7 on ebay. i was wondering if of any value or is just the 1st seies worth money? and if so how much is a set of 1st series cards worth? i also noticed that the packs when opened had the gum stuck to the sticker card any ideas of how to remove the 30 year old piece of gum without messing up the stickers? i tried to pull one off and it pulled some white spots off the cards just practice for when i buy a first series box thanks!

I have no idea how you will be able to not ruin the stickers. I had a the same problem with 1984 V stickers, but that was because they(Fleer) did not put enough powder on the stickers.
The gum is impossible to get off without ruining the sticker, unless it has not melted and stuck on. The vast majority of unopened boxes have packs with the stickers ruined. It can be lightly stuck, in hich case it can be just peeled off, but that is rare.
I have always found Series Five to be printed in lesser quantity than some of the other Series. However it seems that Topps was running out of steam as far as aterial goes. They have a lot of goofy, quirky photos that seem like filler to make another 66 card series. As a result they are less popular with collectors. But most people either collect only Series One, or they complete the entire 330 card set, so people are in need of these cards.
Let us know here or on the PSA Star Wars thread how your packs turned out!
Good luck!
Don't waste your time and fees listing on ebay before getting in touch me by PM or at gregmo32@aol.com !
1) allow a few drop of water to slowly seep between the gum and sticker. Very, Very slowly allowing the water to dissolve away the bond, but not enough water to cause water damage. Several painstaking slow repitions of this might do it.
2) The same steps as above but using goo gone (the goo gone you will have to get off of the sticker fairly quickly or it can stain with time. Goo Gone is DEFINATELY the defacto standard for removing price tags off of collectable toys.
