Oh, and those who are so inclined can save the NCS comments. I don't give a rat's ass that it's been conserved.

What are you doing on that website? I didn't think you liked to pay exorbitantly high prices for your coins?

More like Portfolio Shopping. Isn't Tomaska a contributer for the PCGS Price Guide?

If my powerball ticket is a winner for the $155 mil, consider it my gift. That's a nice coin!

Russ, if you want a REALLY nice example, try this one here I've seen it in person (it's wonderful), and, even though it's graded by PCGS (as opposed to NGC) AND grades a point higher, it might bring "only" a price similar to that being asked for the one you posted.image
  • Wow, that coin is really, I mean REALLLLY, cameo. It almost looks resurfaced

I don't like the haze on the reverse .... and it's a bit pricey...

Russ: Does Miss Liberty have accented hair on this lovely Proof Seated Liberty Dollar??

In all truthfulness, I think that a coin of that age appears almost naked without some natural toning to add a bit of character to it...

I would try to get Mikey (coingame2000) to sell me that 87/6 DMPL and another DMPL I know he has access to.

But you do realize that there are people who do already pay large sums of money for coins among posters here.

  • I like the coinguy1 example better except for one thing. It has the motto and I prefer the no motto variety. image

Russ: I think that this 1799 S$1 BB-161, B-11 PCGS MS-66 Draped Bust Dollar in the upcoming ANR auction, would be somewhere near the top of my ultimate coin wish list... image

And it's even got distinct clash marks and a die break... image

Egads, the buyers premium alone on that is more than I have spent on any single coin.
