1953 "TOPPS" Kaline Rookie When is Topps gonna do this?

image

With all the recent modern cards that are not necessarily of interest to me,
I would VERY MUCH like to see Topps create a 1953 Al Kaline Rookie in the
tradition of the Topps retro stuff. I have seen many players including a
1954 Clemente in a Dodgers Uniform, so PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEESE Topps!
Let me see Kaline in his true FIRST SEASON with that skinny little face and
body in a batting bose similar to the 1957 Topps (Which is my favorite Kaline!).

What other stuff would everyone like to see that "NEVER WAS" .....meaning,
that they have not already PRINTED or RE-PRINTED?

I am sure that there are others looking for similar stuff for KICKS!

Love the cards that never were! # 1 on my list would be a 1980 Topps Thurman Munson. No idea why some type of memorial card was not issued. I'd also like to see a 1980 Topps Earl Campbell, or anything that would have pictured him in a Saints uniform. Crazy that he only allowed Topps to include him in one set.

The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

Diamond Stars Babe Ruth or Lou Gehrig
    '59 Topps Maury Wills

What do you all think about a 1973 Roberto Clemente "TRIBUTE" card.
I know they issued a regular card, but how about a late season addition
with "IN MEMORY OF ONE OF THE GREATEST" or something to that affect?

Earl Campbell wouldn't sign a Topps contract after his first year thus it was his descision not to be part of any Topps sets. The same can be said for Lynn Swann who only has 3 years of cards and nothing else.
I love the 85 Fleer card with him and Moon one of my favorites.

  • 54 & 55 Mantle. though I have seen a couple attempts at them. The afore mentioned Muson & Clemente tribute cards, I'll also 2nd the vote for the missing Musials. How about a 34 Goudey Ruth card? A 33 Delong Ruth? A 52T DiMaggio? A 52t Williams( I know he was in the service, but C'MON, it's Teddy Ballgame!) Or for that matter how about a 52T Paige?

I'd love to see a Red Man Mickey Mantle card and a '51 Bowman DiMaggio.

I personally would've loved to have seen a full regular card of Sandy Koufax in the 1967 Topps set rather than just some league leader cards. Never heard the explanation there.
