Scam Alert (Siren Sound) Scam Alert (Siren Sound) Scam Alert!

LINK

I asked for pics of the cert OR the cert #. Reply: "All of the photos I have of this coin are listed on the auction." Totally ignored the cert # request - not that a "SMART" scammer couldn't dig one up. image

The reason that they don't show the certification label is because it isn't a 2/1 !

    Ditto.

BTW, am I missing something or is this not the 42/1 variety?

The eggspert is right! This is a very deceptive auction.

Read the fine print " fees plus a 15% restocking fee if coin is returned because coin is now raw and isnt in a pcgs slab."

    Again, read the fine print:

main photo is stock photo. All other photos are of actual coin being auctioned.

    So, I ask:

<< <i>What is the PCGS certification number for this coin? >>

Note, that I didn't even mention images.

And the response I get is:

All of the photos I have of this coin are listed on the auction.

At least you received a response--the seller won't reply to me. Maybe it's my pleasing disposition?
  • And her response to me, not surprisedly:

all of the photos I have of this coin are listed on the auction.

FLASH--I just received the following response from the seller:

"This message has been reported to e-bay"

What did I say?--I merely quoted the title to this post!

Jeez, I guess I won't get much slep tonight (not)!

You also have to return it in the "unopened postal package it was shipped in"!!!image

OK,....I'm going to rerturn a coin that I never even opened the package up to take a look at to see how badly I got scammed?!image

    I sent them this question....
Your auction title and pictures state and show a coin in a PCGS slab,....yet in the fine print at the very bottom you state:
Buyer agrees that there is no refund on shipping or insurance and buyer also agrees to pay all sellers fees plus a 15% restocking fee if coin is returned because coin IS NOW RAW AND ISN'T IN A PCGS SLAB.

My questions are....WHY DID YOU TAKE IT OUT OF THE SLAB? How can you assure me that I am getting the actual coin that is pictured IN THE SLAB, when it is NO LONGER in the slab?
    Thanks,
    gandyjai

I can't believe people actually get away with CRAP like that!

I'm speechless at this earlier auction by this seller. Got positive feedback too!

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

Yes coin is now raw. And to be returned the coin must be in the unopened container(holder, slab) it was mailed in. Sorry if it was confusing to you.

Seller's reply to me. I'm just an Outback Jack.

Response I got back to my questions:

"I assure you the coin that was is the slab(and in the photos) is the actual coin being auctioned, and is the coin you will recieve if you are the winning bidder. The coin was removed from the slab because the slab was damanged, but the coin was not damaged in any way only the slab it was in."

My reply was: I am not so sure that it looks like a 42/1-D...Could you please send me the certification number and that way I can
    check to be sure.
    Thanks,
    gandyjai

  • I sent the seller this question:

"Can you please provide me the PCGS certification number. Thank you."

    This was the seller's response:

"I do not have the cert# as coin has been removed from pcgs slab. But the coin being auction is the actual coin that was graded by pcgs."

    responce I just got :

<< <i>the coin in the pic is the 42/1 overdate. I have had this coin graded by PCGS and I also have had this coin AUTHENICATED! I have been bombed with hateful messages on this item, people calling me a liar, scam artist, ect. I hope this answers your questions on this. Thank you >>

interesting that I only get that when I go to that auction page....

    Here is my response image

The slab was damaged so I removed the coin from the slab. I do not have the certification #.Just so you know I had a powerseller ask for other pics of coin which I e-mailed. He then e-mailed me back with LOW offer to sell outside of e-bay, which I refused and told him I was reporting him. Unfortantly e-bay won't do anything since the e-mail was sent outside of e-bay. So this powerseller made up a bogus name and drove the price so high on this item a ligitimate buyer wont bid on it now. So when this auction ends(I cant cancell it under 12 hours left) I am cancelling my e-bay accoubt since they do not enforce what they say they will. If you have any other questions feel free to e-mail me funmissouricple@yahoo.com
FYI coin was certified ms-62fb and coin has been AUTHENICATED this year and I have the paperwork on it.

    My posts viewed image times

  • So I get this from the seller:

I hope you are aware of the fact that your statment can constitute defamation of charater, and you can be sued for that. In fact if I choose to I can have you summoned to court if I so choose. My auction is NOT BOGUS! as I have the actual coin in question and I can very easly have it re-authenicated by an expert.

    So I reply:

Truth is a defense to any alleged defamation. I'd relish a lawsuit so I can counter sue for abuse of process!.

    C'mon, let's dance!!

What sort of dumazed beotch is that seller? Totally a gone case. I think she needs a long rest in a very quite resort-type atmosphere.image
  • Sold for $10,100 to a zero feedback buyer that joined on the last day of the auction, overbidding a long timer (3 weeks) also with zero transactions.

This has been an interesting thread.

The guys who set up phony accounts to bid and interfere in this auction - you do realize that
you could be kicked off eBay permanently if found out, don't you?

I mean by any means of identity - I.P. address, etc.

I'm as much against fraudulent sellers as the next guy, but I don't think I would personally
take that risk. If it is a fraudulent listing, you are supposed to report it and leave it at that.

If I was going to interfere with an auction, I would do it with an account created with an email address entirely unrelated to my real ones, and log in from a public terminal at a library or internet cafe.

That's how I'd do it. I'm not sure how eBay could track such activity back to the real me.
