Favorite Autograph

I started to think of when I was a child and would look at my favorite players cards, or posters and see their autographs. I am sure I'm not the only one who at 10 or 12 years old tried over and over to copy someones sig, or thought one was really cool.

What are some of your all time favorite signatures ?

    Bri,

Great topic and congrats to your Yankees on their win tonight!

Four of the most meticulous signers in my opinion are:

    1. Dale Murphy
    2. Andre Dawson
    3. Shawn Green
    4. Frank Howard
    5. Jesse Barfield

All of them take the time not to scribble their names and have penmanship my grade school teacher would admire. Sorry I don't know have a decent scanner, but if others have samples of these guys, maybe they can post them.

Clemente's autograph was as beautiful as his game. If you want one that shows some effort and style, look at Richard Petty's. I always liked the big looping P and R that Pete Rose used.

For you guys that said Clemente here is a 1958 Pirates team signed baseball with Clemente that I just sold over the weekend. Besides Clemente it had 29 other sigs including Maz, Groat, Face, Ted K.

Bri - I can't scan stuff here beause I am technologically impaired. But I have stuff signed in person from great signer's that is clear and cool. This would include Mantle, Williams, DiMaggio, Aaron, Frank Robinson, Musial, Killebrew, Berra, R Jackson, F Thomas, Clemens, Seaver, A-Rod, Mussina, Kaline, Banks, Hunter, McCovey, Garvey and many others. The sig's that are weak and suck are from Willie Mays and Greg Maddux. Too bad they scribble.
Proud of my 16x20 autographed and framed collection - all signed in person. Not big on modern - I'm stuck in the past!
