Purchasing camera, what is the best Digital camera?

What is the best Digital Camera I could get between $20-$30 dollars that will show an accurate coin discription?
Or is it no camera at this price will do the trick? Also I need something that will not be to complicated to download into my PC. Thank you.

$20-30 would be difficult. About $100 will get you a good quality used camera. Maybe Russ will chime in.

I think you're going to have to come up with some more cash bud.

Mark is right. If you want to produce decent images, you're going to have to stretch beyond that $20 to $30 range. You'll need to get in to the $60 to $80 range for a solid used camera that will do the job. I have two Nikon Coolpix 950's; one that I picked up for $80, the other for $70. On eBay they generally sell around that range, although I've seen a couple go for even less and some a little more.

A good macro function is essential. You can even get away with decent images of rpm's and ddo's without a microscope.

  • Thank you for the information, I will go a little higher. I am not a camera person, I also have a problem with having my picture taken. I think this is because I would not like my friends to destroy thier camera. HA! HA!
    Thanks again for the suggestions.

Do you have two because you like them so much? Do you recommend it for the price?

I have two because with any technology upon which one relies for productivity redundancy is important.

    Absolutely.
