I will be dealing with Heritage if MBT gets off my thread!

<<No offense>>

I asked them for a catalog and...

<<Catalogs can be purchased for $50 each or a 1-year subscription for $100 or $150 depending on which venue you are interested in. When you purchase a catalog or subscription, you will receive a coupon in the same amount you paid for the catalog/subscription. If you are interested, please forward your credit card information, VISA or MasterCard, and I will have a catalog sent to you. Please let me know which venue you are interested in. If you should have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank You,

Kathy Eilers

Keep it!

Now, I remember why I buy from Teletrade. Thanks Heritage.

Sounds reasonable to me. They want to make sure you buy some coins to justify the expense of the catalog. $150 worth of coins for a year's worth of catalogs is very fair. They are running a business, not a library.

You know what - if you make a couple purchases from them they will inundate you with catalogs. They just don't want to send stuff to folks who aren't serious buyers.

A lot of auction houses run ads where if you send an invoice from another auction company they will send you free catalogs.
  • That I would have done...but it was not offered.

  • They have the worst enlargements. Teletrade has a zoom that blows them away. So, why would I buy off their website? I was hoping their catalogs were nicer.

It's easier to bid using the online catalogues. Once you have been an active bidder/buyer, I am sure the print catalogues will flow. They are cheap to produce and ship. You need to demonstrate value in excess of that to merit them.

Based upon multiple conversations and transactions during the past couple of years, I can tell you that Kathy is one of THE nicest and most helpful customer service persons I have ever worked with. Call her up, tell her you'd like one catalog to try out or whatever, and be nice.image
  • This is interesting! I wrote to Heritage to ask them to stop sending those beautiful catalogues as it was a waste of their money. I bid on coins through their website. And, at five to ten dollars a shipment, not including the price of the catalogues, I wanted to save them a substantial amount! I just received the catalogues for the next auction in yesterday's mail as I have half a dozen coins in the two-cent listings -- and I was reminded what incredible catalogues they are.

I guess I must be making the wrong purchases. The only thing I ever get from them is their "we need consignments" mailers.

The ripple effect of Quality1's post has begun . . . . The online catalogue is better anyway.

Your attempt to replace the Quality1 thread is much appreciated

I used to have a complex about not getting the catalogs....

Then I reached $3000 or $4000 in total purchases (don't remember which), and they miraculously started arriving.

And like an earlier poster, found out I really don't use them. I should probably give them a call.......

They send them all to me, I save a few for reference and throw the rest out. Just got 2 in a box this week and they paid $8.50 postage to ship them. I have bought fairly often from them.

Me either, not after they pulled a string and had the Quality1 thread bleeped. And I was a good customer (spent several thou at their recent Dallas Signature auction).

You have any proof of that? I thought you were an attorney.

I spent three grand last year and a grand this year with Heritage and no cataloges. Really don't want any and have had nothing but good luck with Heritage.
  • I walked over from Longacre's thread about the weight of Heritage's catalogs (where I left off before work) and it looks like I stepped in doo-doo on the way.

Whatever happened...it must have been good! Damn work.image

Osmosis is the process of water moving through a semi-permeable membrane. I believe for the scathing nature of your post, the phrase "Do you believe it was abducted by aliens?" would be more accurate.

Fair enough--it must have been the result of an alien abduction!

-Since you're obviously a YN maybe you could have your dad call Heritage and charge it on his credit card.
