These are from a couple months ago, but I haven't been on for a while. I dug the single bullet and then the melted cluster of bullets a couple days later. The most surprising was the piece of metal that was bent in half and covered with red clay. I was about to launch it back in the ground, but something told me to hang on to it. I cleaned it a bit, straightened it out and found a Georgia Motor Vehicle tag from 1919.

That single bullet has primo white patina- that is the most prized look on Minie bullets and musket balls, I've been told. My first 3-ring from Georgia (in Savannah) had a similar patina.
<< <i>It almost looks like there is a design impressed into that melted cluster of bullets...in your bottom-most picture, at center... looks like an eagle button could have been with them when they melted? Maybe I am just imagining things.
