Who's going to the Bellaire TX show Aug 5-6?

The renovations to the Bellaire Civic Center are apparently complete. Haven't seen it yet. Hope they made it bigger! image

  • au58walkers: Dallas seems to have a lot more shows than Houston. I'm jealous. Next to the Money Show in January, this is our big one. Very cramped but lots of fun. I never miss it!

Not exactly. The fall show around Thanksgiving by the Pasadena Club is far larger and is next to the Money Show. This is usually well attended, but it's because it's the only show in the area and the attendance looks good because the place is always so small and cramped. I may go, I may not. The Bellaire Club has done a good job of driving away dealers over the years. It's nothing like it once was.

To call Bellaire a suburb of Houston is a bit like calling Kansas near the US.

Bellaire is a small incorporated city engulfed by Houston for many miles in all directions. Once you leave Bellaire, you will be in Houston for a good long time no matter which way or how fast you drive.

The process engages all the hidden forces of economic law on the side of destruction, and it does it in a manner which not one man in a million is able to diagnose."

I'll be there when the doors open on Saturday. Maybe the dealers will have something interesting left over.

It seems that most of the quality coins are bought and sold during the dealer to dealer trading before the show even opens.
