Nice change find tonight

Got a handfull of change from a cashier this evening, and when she put it all($3 of change, she was out of $ bills) in my hand, I quickly spotted silver. This time in the shape of a 62D Washington in perhaps VF. Dunno why, but finding silver always puts a smile on my face. I asked if she had anymore and we looked and found she didn't. I just wonder how much more she had given out before I got there.

It's been a LONG time since I found silver in my change.

I still get the occasional wheatie (which I almost always spend again), but that's about it these days.

Looking at change just isn't much fun any more. There isn't enough thrilling finds to make the mundane task of sifting through them all bearable.

Before slot machines went to digital with the coin slot and tray removed, I once found 13 silver clad Kennedy half dollars in a 100 coin payout. They stuck out like a sore thumb, beat up but it is bullion @ 40% silver. I tried and tried to hit more with the remaining 87 clad halfs but failed to get anything significant out of the slot machine. I always wondered if there were more in there or not, guess I'll never know.
