    Looks like a slider... but a really ugly one. I would hold out for a nicer coin.

    Tough to grade from the photo. 1896 Philadelphia is very common, you can pick up an MS 63 quite inexpensively.
    Proud recipient of YOU SUCK more than once and less than 100 times.

    common date. looks a little weak on strike. toning might be hiding something. foto not great. hold out for a bona-fide, by foto, mint state. easy and relatively cheap for this date. i'd guess MS63, based more on hope than the foto.

    I bought my 1896 from my local B&M shop not too long ago. It's raw and would probably grade MS63/64 but I only spent around $35 on it. Coins at this level are great for putting into date/MM sets but aren't generally worth the time/effort/expense to have slabbed. Leo

    Agreed with the others. I call it AU-58 and not terribly attractive.
