Need a little help, please?

An ebay seller and I have mutually agreed to terminate a transaction. I recognized his name at check out, he recognized my name, we had a deal go bad once and he decided not to sell me the item which is fine with me. Do I need to advise ebay at all or do we just let the thing disappear? I don't want a NPB strike on me if he decides to make this uglier. I know he has incurred ebay fees which I would have offered to pay for him, but he was so nasty to me that I decided not to offer. He has to file a NPB to get his fees back (if he decides to do that, which I don't know if he will) - what happens next?

  • just be alert for the NPB dispute, simply respond, then he won't be able to unilateral neg you.

by using the eBay Dispute Console, your seller could conceivably cancel the sale by Mutual Agreement, thereby avoiding any negative action against either of you....you may want to check with him to see if that is possible

the seller files a 'we both agree to not complete the transaction'. the buyer agrees with the statement and then the seller gets his fees back and the buyer does not get a non paying strike. the action is initiated by the seller.

Since my return email to him indicated that it was fine with me if he wanted to terminate the transaction, I'll leave it up to him. Thanks people. I was just wondering if I needed to let ebay know that we had mutually agreed, but it sounds like that's the seller's responsibility.
