    Hi, IHM.

I'm sure you'll have your own goodies to post soon enough, eh? image

    If it ain't too hot.

I was thinkin' about that time when we got together in Mt. Pleasant and got skeeter-bitten together.

(I met IHM outside of Charleston, SC when I was vacationing there a while back, and he was in town for something work-related. I babbled his ears off while he sat there quietly. He's a man of few words. We went to a site I knew and he found what appeared to be the entire lock mechanism off an old flintlock or percussion-cap pistol, hammer and all!

I got all excited until we looked closer and realized it was from an old 1950s-60s toy "pirate pistol"!) imageimage

  • Hey LM..I'm in Helen, Georgia right now....went over to Dahlonaga and looked at the gold coins they have in the court house..Man I'd love an hour in there alone!....image

  • That was a fun time LordM. I think about it, quite often. I was great of you to take the time to meet up. The lock had "Made in the USA" on it. That was rather funny. Looked good in the dark. LOL!!! We will meet up again sometime. Great times and I didn't even find anything. Check your PM's.
  • Millennium... I am getting ready to buy a detector, and live about 30min away from Charleston. Would you mind sharing some valuable information with me?

Well...I am partial to Garrett.....I've used them for 20+ years now, and I like them my first was a Garrett Groundhog, and that is what I was using when I first met Lord Marcovan (Rob) and the one I use most now is the GTi 2500 with three different coils. That being said....I do believe 90% of the MD'ing hobby is the person using the machine. NONE of them will find a thing if you are not familiar with the machine, don't use the machine, and are not willing to "do the time"....We have ALL found our share of junk......anyone that says differently, is not being honest with you.....Charleston is a great town, and almost anywhere you can hunt, you will probably find something......What else?
