IKE collectors...Is this a legitimate variety?

1972-D DDO & DDR Am I interpreting this right? Doubled Die Obverse and Doubled Die Reverse? Is this a collectible variety? How strong is the doubling? Is it scarce?? Segoja? Gandyjai?

I have heard about people looking very hard for a Type Two 72 Ike, but I have never heard about it being doubled.

Neither is very dramatic but the DDO is a little moreso and does show up on the date. Specialists
will often desire them. I don't believe either is especially tough but don't have enough experience
to comment. No doubt somebody more knowledgeable will be along.

It's the "P" not the "D" of the 72 that people look hard for in IKES's Amanda. image

In Wexler/Flynn the description for 1972D DDO-001 is as follows: "Tripling seen IN GOD WE TRUST, and the 1 of the date. Doubling seen on LIBERTY and 972 of the date.

For 1972D DDR-001 : "Doubling seen on UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, all of the stars, ONE DOLLAR, E PLURIBUS UNUM, islands of the earth, and FG."

    Hope this helps.
