I got my first sub grades today. Before I joined I called and talked to a rep, asking if my 72 topps cloth stickers clemente card can be graded or at least holdered as authentic. The holder is all I really cared about, to keep it safe from damage.

He checked and came back and said no problem. They will holder it with a grade or "authentic".


I joined, sent in a small sub (45 cards). I put on the sub form that he had told me they would grade it and to please call if there were any questions or problems.


"Not holdered, no holder available."

Talked to customer service, not much luck. They need the card back because it has a number on it. I gave him the #, sorry nothing he could do. The grader wouldn't remember why he wouldn't holder it.

I hear about some of you getting frustrated and having problems with grading, I don't need more stress. The cards I got back and the few I had before that will be on ebay as soon as they come back.

Anyway thanks for all the great information here, it's been a big help.

I had the same problem with the 76's (Apodaca and Dyer). Ironed everything out before hand only to have them returned......

I would explain the situation to a manager or something and ask for a refund because you were told they would holder it.

Yup.

The same thing happened to me.

Asked first. They said "yes." Sent them in.
They returned "unholdered." "No Holder Available."
They sent me a voucher that expired a few days after
I got it.

I sent the cards to Beckett and they holdered them.

I still like PSA the best though. But, it would not hurt
them to get some additional sizes of holders.

I talked to a manager, tried to explain that the card they wouldn't grade was really the only one that mattered. I sent the others in kind of like a "while I'm doing this", the grades were kind of what I expected.

He said if I send the clemente back he'll take it to the grader and see why he wouldn't grade it. He said he needed the card, not just the cert#, and I didn't understand why. No good answer.

Anyway I got some good results I guess. I'm not as mad as I was, just frustrated. Anybody know how to get stains off of 77 topps mexicans???
