When you say "the" ddo/reverse, I was surprised not to have heard of it. Your listing says it's CD's 1984 ddo-2, which is coneca's ddo-2 of course, but neither reference mentions a doubled reverse. Yours has a doubled reverse? Where does the reverse doubling occur? I guess I don't know what the phrase double die obverse/reverse means. Could you explain? Thanks.

  • The doubling on the reverse occurs on the ONE CENT motto of the coin. The picture on ebay does not show this very well due to my cameras resolution, but if you put it under a lens you can see it has quite a spread. The coppercoins site shows a small amount of doubling on the ONE CENT motto, but mine has a wider spread then theirs. The 1984 date on my coin is also more doubled then theirs.
Also, there is a member here who sayes that this variety of the coin is rarer then the 1984 double ear, I can't say for a fact that that's true, The coppercoins site shows less of a premium for this version, but then again, who's to say!

I'd be interested if the you showed the doubling, which after all is what you are selling. Since no mention of the reverse doubling is mentioned in coneca's or CD's listings, showing it would be key.

  • I've showed it, if you look at my listing on ebay, the O in one looks like its been struck by something, when its actually the start of the doubling. Take a look at the N's and the T, they prove that there is doubling. The entire reverse shows doubling, just not a dramitic as the ONE CENT motto.
Those are the best pictures I could get.My camera has crappy resolution, Those are the best ones out of about 60 pictures.

It would benefit you to get it slabbed by ANACS (or even SEGS if it's not a CONECA variety).
  • yes thats true, i should consider that. Ill take it to my dealer today, maby i wont slab it though

  • The reason i may not slab it is that i probly is a coneca variety. There is a certified ddo/r on ebay, it never sold. So why bother. I think his never sold becuse he started bidding at $20. I still mine at one cent.
Still, i'll see what my dealer sayes!
