advice on cutting/tearing a stamp from a panel request

I received a few of these packs of 1972 Sunoco stamps awhile ago thinking they looked pretty cool. I would like to extract the Paul Warfield there in the center and submit it to PSA and am wondering how I should go about cutting/tearing it. Unfortunately, the manufacturer’s folds at the top and bottom of the stamp do not coincide with the perforations. At any rate, should I take an Exacto knife and carefully cut along the perforations, tear along the perforations or what? Note: any apparent blemeshes on the surface of the stamp is from the scan; the surface of the stamp is awesome.

I have seen high grade 1975/1976 Hostess cards that say “hand cut” on the PSA tag, but I’m not sure if that means the person took scissors, an Exacto knife or had a special cutting machine to cut them. Hostess panel do not have perforations, like these stamps but rather dashed lines separating the cards, so they’d have to be cut.

I’m all ears from those of you who have experience with these or other stamps.
