Some more fun: guess the grade!

Not ultra-high end like a lot of people post, but I love the character of the piece. The dark original toning has an "antiqued" look, which makes it look like a medal rather than a coin.

Nice coin
Wear on all the high spots and rim dings.....

I wouldn't have thought that they would find so much to type and the room to put it.....
I'd say EF45 ( or even EF40 if I was being extra conservative ).

That's harsh...
Keep in mind that photos often accentuate flaws. The level of contrast between the areas with wear and those without are not as stark in hand. Also there is more lustre than the photos imply.

I'll still go EF45 - AU50.....although I hope it's much higher.
I have been consistently overgrading coins so I've cut back on my grades when grading.
The Mrs is very good though. I sometimes ask her to tell me which coin is better ( I hand her two slabbed coins ) and she often gets it right. I once handed her two AU58 ZARs and she said that there was no difference.
<< <i>Different coin in the holder, but here's my guess:
-5
That's just too much

This coin had gone unsold on Ebay, since the seller was asking Krause UNC money for it. I contacted him, offered XF money shipped, and he agreed. Sometimes some nice material can be had at reasonable prices by browsing unsold auctions...
