BCCG.....

Is this a reputable grader? Looking to bid on a couple of cards I need but they are in BCCG holders (one an 8 the other a 7). The cards look a bit overgraded to me; can anybody shed some light on this company?

    I would stay away from BCCG. If you are going to go Beckett, stay with BVG for vintage and BGS for modern. BCCG, BVG and BGS all fall under the Beckett name. chaz

    I am finding that my few BCCG sports cards are not easy to sell.

    BCCG has a different scale if I remember right, a 7 isn't NM. Check the holder to be sure

    I have 9s and 10s.

    9 = Near Mint or Better

    10 = Mint or Better


    I am going to crack 'em sometime and send them
    to PSA.

    I know they are real, but folks are afraid of the holders.

    reputable, yes.

    But their grading scale is very different.

    Whereas most companies are 1-10,

    BCCG is essentially something like 5 to 10. a 9 means Near Mint or better.
    I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

    BCCG is reserved for cards that would not grade high in BGS, BVG. Obviously, dealers that submit cards to Beckett enough know their standards and send their "junk " to be graded BCCG.

    NO , BVG AND BGS ONLY GRADE HAND CUT CARDS. I THINK PSA IS THE ONE WHO GRADES SHEET CUT CARDS. chaz

    It does seem that my BCCG cards might have gotten a little
    generous treatment, but that is not the problem potential
    buyers are talking to me about. They are worried that the
    cards may not be authentic. I know that they are because
    of the source of the raw cards, but the holders seem to be
    a red-flag to some of the more sophisticated types.

    As soon as I get the nerve to crack them open, I will send
    them to PSA. (SMR minus-one-grade is WAY higher than I
    have tried to sell them for in the BCCG holders.)

    BCCG is great if you have near-mint cards that you would like to have in a 9 slab rather than in a 7 slab.

    Otherwise, avoid like plague.

    You guys pretty much summed it up. BCCG is for people with off-grade cards that like the numbers "8", "9" and "10" appearing on the slab anyway.
