1979-D MS66FB..........1992-D MS68FB.......2005-D MS68FB

Here are the extras:

2005-P MS69FB/SF
2005-D MS69FB/SF
2006-P MS68FB
2006-P MS70FB/SF...I believe in this one!
2006-D MS68FB
2006-D MS69FB/SF...Maybe a 70?

My thinking on this is that if the/a re-design happens to this coin, that collectors will hit it hard and there will be this new interest like the S.H.Q.'s, well not as powerful, but enough that there will be some heavy hitters searching for these higher grades.

I think that Roosevelt are on life support, but not to the point where it couldn't come back "Major-big-time"!

I would love some input into my above grades and I am willing to change some of course. This would certainly be a H.O.F. set!

Later, Paul.

Well it took 43 years for Nicks 1963 MS67FB to show up.
So I guess anything is possible, even in the tough clad series.
I noticed you found a FB for 1974 and 1978, but not for 1970.
So come on now, if you are going to dream up such a nice set, can't we at least have a 1970 in MS65FB? image
I wonder what the GPA would be on a set such as this?

That is quite a set of clad Roosies you have there. I'm with Dan, surely there is a FB 1970 out there somewhere for you FB people. There had to be SOME coins struck off the dies before they wore down. Or am I just being too logicial.

I could easily change the 1970 to a MS65FB, but I truely believe that this coin does not exist with the current PCGS standards, but if Dan60 says it could happen, then I will change it.

P.S. It was great talking to you Dan on the phone. You are very funny and very knowledable regarding your dimes!

A lot of dies never get the detail imprinted into them at all. It's probably not even on the hubs in many cases. While this is particularly true with nickels it also applies to the 1970 dimes. You can find what are obviously perfect strikes from brand new dies and the bands aren't complete to the right side. You can spot new dies on clads pretty readily since the fine flaws seen on new dies are worn off in just a few dozen strikes.
