Problem Fixed!!! Help Please! A friend's eBay account was just stolen. She doesn't know what to d

Bright Young Filipina, whose chirpy posts graced this Forum briefly, had a baby and decided to sell some of her US Philippine coins to pay for medical bills and upkeep. So she opened an eBay account and has been doing very nicely.
But yesterday morning, she found two auctions opened under her name for computers. She was able to kill those auctions but then she was locked out of her own account. She can't get in and whoever stole her eBay account name apparently also stole her Yahoo e-address (Brightyoungfilipina@yahoo.com) because she's locked out of that, too.
What does she do to stop this fraud? Who does she notify at eBay? What does she tell them? Without her yahoo e-address, how does she prove she's who she says she is?
How do people do things like that to other people? What slime buckets they must be, eh?
Thank you,
Just Having Fun

I've already forwarded your message to BYF by e-mail and spoke with Tainohenka, her friend in Manila, who's going over to her apartment to take care of it now.
Much appreciated, and I'll let you know how it turns out.
Warm regards,

"The problem with BYF's account seems to be fixed. It is secure at the moment and the situation has been reported, noted and acted upon. Jetblack74Oil's reco did the trick. The problem was fixed by way of a live chat with a customer service agent from eBay's "Live Help."
" Ebay's customer service representative who was assigned to us was very helpful. He said he had cleared BYF's account of the fake listings and has removed all charges credited to BYF's ebay account since July 18, 2006.
"BYF has regained access to her original ebay account and has already taken the necessary precautions. She has changed her ebay password, a new email account has also been registered with ebay."
Thank you so much, Jet Black 74 Oil. We really appreciate it. Tainohenka and Bright Young Filipina spent a day composing a letter, and I helped with editing, and then your simple recommendation made it all unnecessary. They thank you profusely.
And Bright Young Filipina asked me to thank you, too, IlikeZARcoins, for your well wishes. Much appreciated.
Warm regards from Bangkok,

<< <i>Wow, girl in the Philippines asks a guy in Thailand who gets a answer from a guy in America to solve the problem, COOL! >>
That's what you call globalization and networking!!
JHF, I'm glad that the BYF's problems have been solved to no detriment to her.

Bankok - hmmm, I've been there twice and am definitely going back at some stage. The fresh seafood is just unreal ( as are the lazy days floating on a tube in the calm blue ocean ). I wanted to go to the snake farm last time but the wife had other ideas.

Dear a039: I hadn't thought of that but ain't that the truth. And 1Jester is right: Globalization at its best.
Hello again I like ZAR Coins! I've been to the snake farm, the crocodile farm, the Grand Palace, the old city, and most of the tourist attractions in and around Bangkok, and they're all fun. But the number 1 for me is simply walking through Bangkok late at night through the back streets and alleys. Last night, for instance, a friend (of the female persuasion) and I took off at around 11: pm and meandered through the biways -- streets and alleys so narrow I wouldn't dare walk through them if I were in New York or San Francisco. But in Bangkok, they're safe.
Along the way, we must have passed 3 dozen open street side cafe's. At one of them, I stopped to read their sign -- I'm just beginning to get the feel for the language and could sound it out without knowing what it meant. Anyhoo, a few of the patrons there, invited us to join them, and for 20 baht (50 cents) I bought a few shots of mekong whiskey mixed with god knows what. My friend, who is Thai, had a nice time schmoozing, and I sat there soaking it all up. Then, finished, we got up and resumed our walk. Neat, friendly people, and a great place to live.
And thanks again, jetblack74oil
Warm regards,

Hello Gazza:
I wouldn't walk them during the day in Manila.
When I first came to Asia, Manila was my favorite "port of call" and I was thinking of settling there. Back then it was safe to walk in Manila, and I'd walk alone down the shanty town lining the railroad tracks on South SuperHighway. Or through the alleys of Tondo. Sometimes I'd get stares but more of amazement rather than hostility. I never had trouble. I never was close to trouble.
Then Estrada replaced Ramos as President and he insulted the Muslims and excited their insurgency. His economic policies sent the economy into a tailspin. Almost in months the tone of my walks changed. Suddenly friendly smiles turned to cold, hostile stares. I began to feel threatened in many of my old stomping grounds. Then a friend in the numismatic community was kidnapped and held for ransom. And I no longer felt safe walking the streets of Manila.
Now, when business takes me to Manila, which it does frequently, it feels like I'm in jail. Twenty-four hour security on the floor of my hotel room. If I go for a walk that would have been perfectly ordinary as a solo, back when Ramos was president, I now need a bodyguard.
So, I moved to Bangkok, and love walking the streets and if you love that too, give it a try. And the first time you almost walk into an elephant walking along the sidewalk, you'll know you're not in Manila.
Warm regards,
