Crack Kills....Photos Included
Beside people it also kills a coin die
While playing with my daughters toy scope I decided to give my 1883-CC a once over for fun
At what point is a die thrown out?
When does a crack become a break?
Anybody have a specimen of a later die state? Would like to see some photos
The coin in question has some strong clashing, some nice cracks and a little color to it.
Clash on back of head....Looks like it was at least twice with a little rotation.

This cracking runs from the left star into Liberties neck thru the 1 and thru the 8's

This crack runs along AMERICA but looks the nicest between the E and R

Thanks,
Ken

Here are a couple that are late die states but there are a few here that are even more dramatic owned by others on the board.
1921 D 1BG
1921 D VAM 1D:
Hell, I don't need to exercise.....I get enough just pushing my luck.
Just wanted to know a couple of things is all....I know that the 21's had some hard core breaks.
I was thinking maybe somebody had a later die state that and would post photos of it.
Thanks,
Ken
