Remember $100 offered to remove ebay negative??

Remember about a month ago, a certain coin dealer offered me $100 to remove negative feedback I had left. I refused. Today I received the following email from another ebayer:

"Noticed you received a Neg Feedback from ah-collectibles (now treasure galleries). Looks retaliatory. I left them a neg feedback due to not receiving my item $60 and years later they approach me wanting to remove neg feedback. I cooperate and go through Square Trade to get the Neg statement removed in exchange for a refund and low and behold their feedback is removed but my refund is no where to be found. Maybe 2 or more voices are better than one."

Y'all warned me TO GET THE MONEY FIRST. What a crook! Glad I refused to get sucked into his little scheme.

Yep.....some spots just don't change......a permanent stain one might say.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

I remember ah-collectibles on eBay, they sold many coins in ACG holders. They would write in their coin description on how ACG was found to be the best grading company for grading consistency. Had a good laugh with that one image

hmmmm.... What a concept, pay the guy that you cheated to say you are not a cheater. Then cheat him after he says you are not a cheater.

Is this guy running for office ? He'll probably get elected.

I have his book that he wrote "The Accugrade System" from 1984 He was really into coins back then and started the first slab grading company.

I think he is suing PCGS and some other coin dealers for slander?
  • I read in Coin World that his lawsuits were thrown out by judge because the specific "injury" he suffered was not specified.

I bought some ACG graded coins, once.... Actually all were Commemorative Proof 70s that I submitted to PCGS.

There is less than a day on all three of them on ebay, as a matter of fact. Incidentally, they came back from PCGS as PF66/67/67 all DCAM. I started them all at face value and I have over $300 in them. The highest bid is about twenty bucks. I know about them ACG holders, all too well !

Is that what this is about ? image

  • Does ACG still advertise in numismatic hobby publications? Also, has anyone seen ACG at a coin show recently? I just went to their site and they are advertising Coin Show Specials.

Five years ago you would find ACG graded coins on eBay all day long. The last ACG coin I bought was a MS64 1921 Peace High Relief I sent it into PCGS and it came back MS63. I only paid $140.00 for it so I did not lose any money.

Have you considered forwarding that email to Ebay! M<aybe they could just outright ban the bastage?
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

maybe I can sue to re-coup my losses image

    nah...that'd be frivolous
  • Interesting read--the lawsuit. Will the plantiffs have to prove statements were false? What if the statements are TRUE? I notice the suit DOES NOT use the words SLANDER or LIBEL. Now it's tortuous interference and conspiracy to interfere.

Absolutely. NEVER remove a negative until you have your refunded $$$$ in hand.

When I first got on eBay a guy tried to stick me with a POS for $500. I got my money back and THEN came the mutual removal of the justifiable neg I left for him and the one he left me out of retaliation.

3 years have come and gone and I STILL remember his seller's ID and real Name. Can you imagine? Boy, was I pist. image

Florida - coin ripoffs and coin problems.
    Repeatedly.

Whenever I hear of someone in the "coin biz" in Florida, I think twice and prepare for the worst (and generally avoid dealing with them unless they have a stellar rep around here)

Probably something in the water down there that makes people around coins go crazy

  • Interesting lawsuit. To answer KoinDawg's question, the plaintiff does have to prove the allegedly defamatory statements were false, and may under these circumstances have to prove in addition that the person making them knew they were false. Truth is a complete defense. Moreover, the person claiming to have been defamed puts his reputation and character at issue. Needless to say, discovery into character and reputation can be quite embarassing.

    From the lawsuit ...

    e. the statement on RCC that DIANE HAGER is a “screaming fishwife”;

  • Hmm. Only statements of fact are actionable. "Screaming fishwife" sounds more like an opinion to me . . . .

They say the water from Puget Sound makes you feel clamie or was that just Ivar singing his song?
