Bad news for me, crap!!!

Sometime before I join CU, I bought these cards. I didn't notice anything wrong at the time, but in the last few days I've been going through my stuff and yikes.

This first card is the most obvious, almost looks like the guy pounded it open with a chisel image

image

I bought it from ebay member tragicallyhip from Saskachewan.

Also there was another ebay member that asked me about this card because he also bought an Orr rc from the same guy, and said that he was suspicious of it ??? I emailed him back and said I wasn't worried about mine. Sure wish I knew who he was.

I guess the first thing I need to do is send it to PSA for regrading, before I accuse anyone???

What do you guys think? (I'll get a pic of the back posted)

I'm not sure what can be seen, but I do have a couple of Orrs that I know are real and this card looks real by comparison.

The first image was enhanced, but I just left this image as is.

EDIT: There is a crack that travels into the slab 3/16 to 1/4 inch long, just below the ( in ) where it says printed in Canada.

Unless there are some other faults, the corners look like a solid 6 to me. Does the case have pry marks, or just dings in the white areas? Even if it has pry marks, since the holder is not white all the way around, it is possible that the case was not opened. They may have tried, and quit when they saw what it was doing to the edges. Like I said, it looks lilke a solid 6.

No real signs of pry marks, there is a scuff right below Bobby Orr that kind of looks like it's been stepped on???

Here's another one I'm worried about.

Frosting not as bad, it has a (ST) qualifier for this little mark to the upper laft of the #35.

I'd simply analyze the cards yourself. From the scans they look like sixes and typically scams are not delivered in a 6(ST) holder.

I think the card looks good and it even has the stain - commensurate with the grade.

But, considering the holder is in question - and that could've been from shipping damage? Maybe the card was placed under torque pressure?

It wouldn't hurt to get a nice new holder from PSA - plus it will dispell the fears.

Good luck - if you send it in - I would also like to see the new holder if you have the time.

Last - the ST - is that a bit of wax?

I've got plenty of cases that look like that straight from PSA. No cracks, but I've got many that have the "Frost", I've even thought to myself if I should have them reholdered on the off-chance someone questions it's validity. None are terrible, but the frost exists in some parts. It happens.

Just have it put in a new holder.

The pry marks seem to be there, but the "extra"
frost is likely just from a "twisty-ride" in the mail.

The card appears to be TOTALLY real.

Completely agree here. I've had plenty of cards arrive straight from PSA with some frost around the holders. If you feel uncomfortable with them, crack and resubmit; in my opinion, however, they look like solid sixes. I would just have them reholdered.

Thanks for the replies guys. I think my chisel comment may have been a bit exagerated image

Now that I really look the cards over carefully, they do seem real but I'll find out for sure and let you know.

Both look legit to me as well. I would say you should be able to get them reholdered no problem. plus then you'll have a nice fresh presentation to boot. Both look like very nice cards I'd be proud to own. image
