IN MEMORIAM: HOWARD HYMAN (DIRTYDOG 48)

Dear fellow Boardmembers:

It is with great sadness that I write this message to inform you all that one of our board members, HOWARD HYMAN passed away suddenly on Saturday. At present, this is all the information I have. When I have more details, I will post again.

Please keep Howard's family in your prayers.

Howard, was one of the Hobby's good guys, I first met him through ebay back in 2000. He had become one of my best trading partners, often sending more than what was expected in return. He was always there to help you out in anyway he could. I enjoying talking trash with him as he was a beloved NY Rangers & NY Giants fan. He will be sorely missed.

Thank you all and be well.

Ryan

This is very sad - my prayers go out to Howard's family.

I think he only posted on the sportsforum.

So, he may be unknown to a lot of people.

He was very young, it's God's plan. I believe that puts all our hobby talk - for while anyway - in perspective - at least for me it does.

I don't think he'd want to be remembered by his last post.

    He was talking smack.

    Well, maybe he would image

So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
  • He's in a better place. We'll be there soon enough too. RIP buddy

    I didn't recognize the name so I did a 90 day search.

He had zero posts anywhere except sportstalk.

This is one of his last posts.

    Makes ya think...don't it?

Mike, i think he pretty much quit posting in the card forums, but he did used to post a bit about cards.. here is a thread where he talks about buying wonder bread in 1954 to get the 5 free topps cards.. image

if you search his posts just in the sports card & registry forums, you'll see it looks like he quit posting about cards in 2005..

Right...I think I only did a 90 day search Perry.

Very sad indeed. My dad died when he was my age in 1979 from congestive heart failure. He was a heavy smoker and a "healthy" drinker.
